PRO-TIP: This is the simplified version of the lore. Each character has more details within their profile on what actually happened. We recommend reading those as well for the FULL story!In the beginning (known as Year 0), a being known as the "Creator" used his powers of creation to create the gods that would rule over the Overworld, The Nether, and the End.The balance of their godly powers dictated that there had to be an even divide. This meant that if someone else was ruling one of the realms, a god could not come up to their realm and try to take over without draining their own power. This would stop certain beings from becoming TOO powerful.The division of power was this:THE OVERWORLD
Two twins, the Sun and the Moon, ruled with the help of the species known as Fairies. This division of power helped them to make the seasons change and the says change from day to night, keeping the tides from being out of control.THE NETHER
Partially ruled by the Creator's original creations, Wrath and Pride, the power was eventually divided between the other Sins; Gluttony, Greed, Envy, Sloth, and Lust. Each Sin was set to rule over a specific biome and mob, but Wrath and Pride kept those powers to themselves until they deemed another Sin worthy and ready to receive these powers.Wrath - Rules over the Nether Fortress and it’s Wither Skeletons
Pride - Rules over the Nether Wastes and it’s Ghasts
Lust - Rules over the Crimson Forests and Blazes
Gluttony - Rules over the Basalt Deltas and it’s Magma Cubes

Sloth - Rules over the Soul Sand Valleys and it’s Skeletons.
Envy - Rules over the Warped Forests, but because of the Endermen already being taken, does not have a mob of his own - Wrath and Pride both say he is not ready. Instead, he controls the mycelium network and can listen into anyone in the Overworld or Nether through the mushrooms that grow naturally in every location.THE END
Lilith, is the only ruler of the End, due to the Creator's favoritism. She was cast out, due to her relations with several beings, and the other gods stopped communicating with her and sealed her realm so only people who found the scarce End Portals could contact her and reach the realm. She can shift into a dragon and does not have a limited number of lives, this is what enables the ender dragon to continuously respawn. Lilith lets the players respawn her dragon as many times as they want, due to her love of helping the humans. The ruler of the End controls all the Endermen no matter what realm they are in and uses them to spy on the rest of the server and keep tabs on those brave enough to explore their realm.OTHER GODSVulcan was a minor god, who had the power to make overpowered weapons, and was the creator of the Seven Swords, as well as Selene’s Blade and Hilos’ Blade. He supplied all the gods with weapons to fight their battles, but remained to be a pacifist and never took sides in their quarrels - this made him one of the Creator's favorites. Along with Vulcan's creation, came Evander, the god of Archery, and Vera, the goddess of shields.Additionally, in the Overworld, a King, Trident, was created as a God to rule over the oceans and their tides. Mira, Ruler of the Deep Lukewarm OceanGOD WARAfter the creation of the last god of the server (Envy), the Creator started to go mad with power, hurting many of the gods and people of the Lunar SMP in the process. Everything was out of balance with the Creator and this caused some of the older gods (Wrath, Pride, and Lilith) to take action. They locked the Creator underground where they could (supposedly) not hurt anyone - unbeknownst to them, the Creator started to multiply into smaller beings underground, festering and waiting for travelers to stumble upon them.With the Creator locked away, Wrath and Pride tried to find ways to take charge. They did what they’d always wanted to do, locking Lilith away in the end despite her help. The gods quickly scattered to their separate areas, trying to avoid anymore problems and just do their jobs. Throughout the years, Wrath and Pride tried many times to extend their reach to the Overworld - the only time they succeeded, they struck down the Fairies from their deity status, making them just another species on the Lunar SMP rather than gods.AFTERMATHMany problems occurred over the thousands of years the Lunar SMP has existed.The main problem, the original problem, was that the Sun and Moon could not see each other without causing an eclipse. These eclipses would cause the oceans to be out of alignment, angering the King of the Ocean in the process. The Council eventually decided it was best for everyone on the SMP for them to only get to see each other during the naturally occurring eclipse, where they’d meet at their shrines and get to spend time together. The Sun and Moon seemingly agreed, continuing to help the humans. The Moon loved the humans and even helped them create Spawn Town.This angered the Sun, that he didn’t get to see the Moon as often as he wanted to. On top of thankless humans, the Sun used his anger to create the Pillagers, in hopes it would defeat the humans and they could go back to spending all their time with their twin. The Moon though, could not let this happen to the people they cared so much for. The Moon, with the help of Lust and Pride, gifted the humans Ancient Debris and taught them to convert it to Netherite, enchanting weapons strong enough to teach the citizens to fight back against the Pillagers.The Moon, enraged when she found out what her twin had done, fought with the Sun. The two got in an intense battle, destroying Spawn Town in the process and their relationship. The Sun vowed to end the humans and create an eternal eclipse, before moving out of their shared home and into his home base, drowning his sorrows in alcohol created by the humans. The Moon, emotional and upset, used her powers to create a new Spawn Town and reset spawn to Spawn Island, making her home above it and looking down at the humans she cared so much for.Seeing this fight, the King of Mer fled from the Council, no longer wishing to be involved due to all the infighting and wishing to keep his children and his people safe from everything. The Council saw this as a betrayal and tried to erase all knowledge of the Mer King from the Lunar SMP’s history, but the Fairy Archive hid one book on them deep in the back of the library.This was the current situation, up until Season 1 of the Lunar SMP.

• Simplified Pre-Server Timeline

Year 0 - Creator creates the Lunar SMP.Year 2 - Creator creates mortals.Year 50 - The Sun and Moon are created, bringing light to the server. Mortals move out from underground where they were residing.Year 100 - Mortals begin to fight. Wrath and Pride are created.Year 120 - Mortals find the End. Lilith is created to rule it and is favored by the Creator.Year 130 - Greed and Gluttony are created.Year 135 - Feeling like they’ve done everything now that the End was discovered, mortals grew lazy. Sloth is created.Year 250 - After a huge drop in population due to Sloth’s influence over the land, the Creator creates Lust to ensure the mortals’ survival.Year 255 - Envy is created.Year 300 - The Moon creates the first Fairy after having a relationship with a Nymph Goddess. The Fairies help the Sun and Moon rule the Overworld as minor Deities. The Moon then creates the Ocean God to help her manage the tides.Year 350 - Following the Moon’s example, the Ocean God has many children to help him rule over different factions of the Ocean.Year 400 - Lilith and Lust have a child, known as Adam. It is unknown what kind of species Adam was. This causes conflict among the gods.Year 405 - Vulcan is created to give all of the gods weapons as a gift from the Creator. Angry that he was created to serve others, Vulcan created one weapon for every god, then refused to create anything further, sitting back and watching them fight.Year 410 - Pride convinces everyone that the Creator is mad with power, letting gods do what they want. Pride, Wrath, and Lilith attempt to kill the Creator, but end up locking him underground, where he supposedly couldn’t hurt anyone else. The sculk makes it so the Creator cannot use his godly powers.Year 421 - Adam is killed by Pride. Pride’s reasoning is unknown. Adam now resides as a ghost on the SMP. Lust disappears for over years. With Lust gone, Wrath and Pride seal Lilith away in the End, sealing the realm so the only accessible way there is found the scarcely found Strongholds.Year 450-present - Lilith has relations with several travelers that come through the End over time. Every time she has a child with them, Pride somehow finds out and throws them down to the Overworld or, in some cases, as far as another Realm.Year 500 - Pride, attempting a hostile takeover of the Overworld, escapes the Nether. He strikes down the Fairies from a Deity status. To protect themselves, the Ocean King leaves with his children and hides. The Elven Queen follows his lead.Year 750 - Lust returns to Lunar. It is unknown where he went. He befriends Envy and Sloth and occasionally goes to see Lilith. Lilith tells him of her other children.Year 800 - Wrath and Lust get together romantically and are married shortly after.Year 810 - Greed and Gluttony, jealous, kidnaps Lust because they like his presence. Lust escapes on his own and Wrath kills Gluttony, discovering that they can kill other gods and they will simply respawn after sometime.Year 850 - Lust and Lilith write the Resurrection Book, in hopes a mortal will make a deal with them to resurrect Adam.Year 1000 - The Sun and Moon, growing tired, attempt to see each other, causing the first eclipse. All of the gods come together to create a Council and decide that the two cannot see each other, due to the eternal eclipse that would happen. They have scheduled meetings at their shrines, only for a short period of time. This is when the Solar/Lunar eclipses happen.Year 1060 - The Sun, growing angry without being able to see his twin, creates the Pillagers to destroy the mortals. Greed, seeing this, supplies the Moon with ancient scraps he found to be stronger than diamonds. The Moon creates Netherite and teaches the mortals to make armor and upgrade their weapons to fight back.Year 1061 - The Sun, angry, fights with the Moon, destroying the original Spawn Town located behind Fallen Star Mountain, resulting in several fatalities. The Sun moves out of their shared home, vowing to create an Eternal Eclipse.Year 1062 - The Moon, with the help of the villagers of Lunar, creates the new Spawn Town and Spawn Island, making her home above them to watch and protect them from the Sun’s anger.Year 1065-Season 1 - The Sun and Moon fight many battles against each other.
